Our Story
Shop Nawiri was born out of a shared frustration:
Why were most toys on our shelves either plastic, imported, or uninspiring? As Kenyan parents and creatives, we wanted toys that were safe, beautiful, and local — something our children could enjoy and be proud of.
So we teamed up with local artisans, designers, and early childhood educators to create a line of toys that was uniquely Kenyan. In 2023, we launched Shop Nawiri with a mission to make better toys for kids, while also creating meaningful employment for Kenyan craftspeople and reducing plastic waste in our homes.
